Hello,I'm trying to install the OneDrive desktop app (so I can access the OneDrive folder directly through Finder) on my MacBook Pro running:- OS version: High Sierra 10.13.6- Office version: Office 365 (Enterprise E3)- Subscription: 'The latest desktop version of Office'- OneDrive version: 18.151.0729.0006 (Standalone)The OneDrive desktop app installs without any issues, but when I try to add/sync my business OneDrive folder, I get the well-known error: 'Sorry, we can't add your 'FOLDER NAME' folder right now. Please try again.' I've seen from past posts that a workaround was to change the folder name so that there were no spaces, but also read that Microsoft would be issuing a fix for this (so that spaces wouldn't be a problem anymore) in 2017. Unfortunately, I'm unable to changethe root OneDrive folder name and remove spaces, so that earlier workaround isn't a viable solution. Can you please provide help on this issue? Hi Neha,Thanks for your response. I have checked the 4 issues you listed, and all of those are set appropriately on my end. So the issue doesn't lie there.

Syncing to a different location also does not resolve the issue. To answer your 3 questions:1) Yes, the root folder contains a space. My understanding was that Microsoft planned to develop a fix for the space issue sometime last year, based on previous posts and the fact that this affects all Mac users. Is this the case?2) None of the unsupported characters you listed are included in the root folder name.3) I installed the OneDrive sync client via the standalone OneDrive app downloaded from the Office website.I don't believe MacOS is blocked from syncing with OneDrive in the admin settings, but that the space issue is what's at play here. Thanks for your help. Hi CJGLN,The issue where users are unable to sync OneDrive/SharePoint site containing space in root folder on mac was resolved earlier. To verify this again, if space in OneDrive root folder name is really the cause of the issue, I tested on my end.
After you set up iCloud Drive on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, you can set it up on your Windows PC. Go to Start, open Apps or Programs, and open iCloud for Windows. Enter your Apple ID to sign in to iCloud. Select iCloud Drive, then click Apply.
My tenant name is Contoso M365xxxxx, this makes my OneDrive root folder Contoso M365xxxxx, as shown in the screenshot below.I tried syncing this account with OneDrive sync client on mac and it was successful. So, we can conclude the space in the root folder is not the cause. The error you encountered could be because of a different reason. If all the users in your organization are unable to sync OneDrive folder on their mac OS, then I’ll highly recommend you contact your admin to confirm if MacOS is blocked from syncingOneDrive.Once you confirm with your admin, we’ll rule out this possibility and then we’ll move forward to troubleshoot this issue further.Regards,Neha - If you feel a reply works for you, please kindly vote or mark it as it will be beneficial to other community members reading this thread.
